Flucort Skin Cream is a topical corticosteroid indicated for inflammatory skin issues such as itching, redness, discomfort, crusting, dryness, and scaling. Its active component is Fluocinolone.
Flucort Skin Cream functions as an adrenocortical steroid that possesses anti-allergic, anti-inflammatory, and immune-modulating effects. The Fluocinolone in the cream penetrates the skin and reaches the inflamed cells, inhibiting the production of prostaglandins and leukotrienes that are responsible for inflammation. Additionally, Fluocinolone induces vasoconstriction, which helps to prevent cell leakage.
Apply the necessary amount and gently massage it into the affected skin area. Avoid covering the application site unless a dressing has been specifically directed. Use as a thin layer two to four times daily.
This medication is intended for external use only. Keep away from contact with your eyes, mouth, or other mucosal surfaces. Do not apply excessively.
Frequent side effects may include skin irritation, dermatitis, thinning of the skin, and the development of striae.
